The material presented in this book captures the spirit of the IV European Landscape Biennial, which took place in Barcelona in March of 2006. This event was jointly organized by the Association of Architects of Catalonia (COAC), the Barcelona Branch of the COAC, the Association of Friends of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), and the Masters Program in Landscape Architecture at the UPC. As in previous editions, the Biennial included the participation of important professionals from various disciplines. Presented with the theme "Landscape: a Product, a Production," the participants reflected on new approaches to the term "landscape" (primarily as design, but also as landscape study). Both the natural processes involved in landscape and the concept of landscape as a final product were dealt with in depth. Once again, this catalogue serves as a necessary reference for those who see landscape as a subject of discussion and reflection.
