Since ancient times the territories of Bulgaria have been inhabited by tribes and peoples who left us a heritage of exceptional models of their spiritual and material culture. Pagan shrines, unique Thacian treasures, monumental Heroons, remains of antique towns and medieval fortresses are just a tiny part of the numerous archaeological sites, discovered and explored at the territories of our small and ancient country. Nowadays the archaeological discoveries are still going on, which increases the contribution of Bulgaria to the world cultural heritage.
